This message is to simply have Ascensum the guild say goodbye.

Most may wonder why post a subject about a guild leaving or disbanding. Well for this guild that has been on this server for over 2 years, I figured with everything it has been through and done that it deserved a farewell.

For those that may not know Ascensum has been an honorable guild since day one. It was put together by 10 people who thought family, friends, and RL should come first and that even with this the guild itself could progress. Well from the time that it was put together to the time that the expansion was launched it worked. We killed everything through MC, BWL, AQ40 and many bosses through Naxx. The guild was the best and people on the server looked up to us and respected anyone with the Ascensum name. When BC came out the guild took a major hit and had several splits. Some members formed their own guilds and some stayed to help rebuild. Since BC the guild has not been able to get back on its feet and as the last member pre BC that is not retired I feel it is now time to put the guild to rest.

Now the guild has went through many GMs all who were great. All of them lead the guild with the best of their ability and the members throughout the years thank them for that. I personally would like to apologize for action that I took in the guild prior BC. I never knew how hard it was running a guild until I did it myself and all officers and Gms took a lot of #!%! from myself and others. We have had over probably 400+ people come and go. All who were great in their own way. Some with playing skills, other with personality and always knowing when to crack a joke on the raid aka Sin, Fred, weena and helt :) (they were never the serious type), and many who were just along for the raiding.

Now the guild itself will be put into "retirement". What I mean by this is that I will put one of my alts as the GM and probably never log on again with that alt. With all the people that are in the retirement slot I don't feel that it is fair to disband the guild due to these members. Now you may see the tag run around with a person or two that may be old members coming out of retirement or there is about 5 members who still remain in the guild. I do ask that they be treated with respect as they always have been. As the last GM of the guild I would like to say on behalf of all current and past members we will miss this guild and I wish all past and current members success in life and in the game. Who knows maybe one day the guild will come out of retirement. I personally would like to thank all the members that helped keep the guild running this long. Also to past members that taught me how to truly lead and play my character with the best of my ability. Please remeber the guild the way it was in its glory days and not how it has been with myself and others trying to hang on to a guild that has come and gone.
